David and Claire Lottman
David and Claire Lottman are the proud parents of three amazing and talented boys, Derek, Dylan, and Jacob. David and Claire met in Tallahassee when they were both attending undergraduate college. After Claire completed her BS in Psychology from Florida State University, they decided to move to Orlando in order for Claire to pursue her dream in Applied Behavior Analysis at the Florida Institute of Technology Master’s program.
On the other hand, David completed his BS in Business Administration and then completed his Masters in Finance and Accounting from Keller Graduate School of Management. After nine (9) years of working in separate fields but always supporting each other, they decided to open Camen Behavioral Services in 2015. Camen Behavioral Services provided ABA services in the home, clinic, and community settings.
During the past several years, David and Claire have been able to observe many classroom styles and experiences for children and often felt something was amiss. When they decided to homeschool their own children for two years, they researched a variety of curriculum and educational philosophies. When they fell upon the Waldorf education model, something felt RIGHT. After experiencing the joy of education first hand by seeing their boys loving to learn and hearing parents of Camen Behavioral Services asking for alternative schooling options, the concept of a Performing Arts school using the Waldorf education model was born.
We hope for children to learn how to experiment, use expressions, and gain fundamental skillsets while learning to be creative and build character.
For family time, the Lottman’s enjoy singing, dancing to music, hiking, watching Marvel Comic movies, and learning about nature. The boys have their very own garden and love watching their father chomp down on hot jalapeños!
My name is Karla Ortiz, and I’m looking forward to an incredible school year here at CAMEN Academy For The Performing Arts. I am a proud wife and mom of two amazing kids, Jean and Paola.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Special and Elementary Physical Education at the University of Puerto Rico. I am a certified teacher in the State of Florida. I began my educational career at the YMCA center as a VPK lead teacher. After a couple of years as a VPK lead teacher, I became a Kindergarten teacher in Osceola County School district. I spent ten (10) years teaching within the district as a VPK and kindergarten and second-grade teacher at Partin Settlement Elementary before accepting my first principal position at CAMEN Academy For The Performing Arts.
My educational experiences have offered me the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse group of people to meet the common goal of increasing student achievement and well-being. My educational philosophy is based on my uncompromising belief that all students can learn, given a positive learning environment, strong and knowledgeable leadership, a committed and focused educational team, an encouraging community, and a supportive family. During my free time, I enjoy crafting, playing with my dogs, and spending time with family.
Born and raised in Orlando, Florida, I graduated from the University of Central Florida with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a certificate in Behavioral Forensics. Just years later, I began working in the wonderful field of Applied Behavior Analysis under the supervision of Claire Lottman. Once Camen Behavioral opened, it was a no-brainer that I would transition! I have been in the ABA field for almost six (6) years now. I also have a master’s degree in Exceptional Education from the University of West Florida.
I have such a passion for teaching these children in a way that they can understand. It is not for us to have the children adapt to our teaching method, but it’s for us to adapt to a teaching method that works for the child. Being able to make a difference in the life of children makes all the difference in my life.
I enjoy spending time with family laughing and dancing. I also enjoy experiencing new things and places.
My name is Anissa Arnum, and I’m looking forward to an amazing school year here at Camen Academy for The Performing Arts. I received my Bachelor’s in Science degree in Exceptional Education at The University of Central Florida. I started my educational career at Primrose School as an After School Teacher. After a couple years finishing my Bachelor’s Degree I interned at UCP of Central Florida. Then began teaching First and Second Grade. I enjoy teaching. I love to see the look upon a student’s face when you teach a lesson, and they understand it. I like to teach outside the box. Being able to make a difference in a child’s life brings me so much joy. I enjoy spending time with my family. I also enjoy singing, dancing, writing, and traveling. I have set many goals for myself over the years, but as I progress and mature in this field, I wish to make a difference in all of my students’ life.
